Blending Folky Pop with a dash of Americana Soul, NeverLand Tourist is the musical journey of Seattle based singer/songwriter Mark Romney. After taking a decade long break from recording and performing to start a family and try his hand at normalcy, Mark has returned to the uncertain but satisfying world of songwriting and performing.
Written over the last few years, Closer To The Clouds was recorded primarily at The Wormhole studio in Boise, Idaho. With co-producer Cary Judd and Mark playing nearly every instrument on the EP, finding the right sounds was an exercise in discovering what Mark was hearing in his mind. The results are fresh but familiar with the pair using multiple guitars, piano, drums, banjo, Mark’s voice, and his trademark mouth trombone to craft the textures for each song.
With the 6 song EP, Closer To The Clouds, NeverLand Tourist pulls you into his musical journey and makes sure you’ll want to come along. Recounting stories real and imagined, the songs call out to the highs and the lows of life, the daily ritual, the tragic story, and the magical moments that connect us all.
